VINAMILK INVESTS 25% OF SHARE CAPITAL OF ASIA COCONUT PROCESSING JOINT STOCK COMPANY (ACP) – THE COMPANY THAT SPECIALIZES ITSELF IN MANUFACTURING AND TRADING COCONUT-BASED PRODUCTS FOR THE LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL MARKETS.

Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company – Vinamilk has announced that, the Board of Directors has approved and officially invested by 25% of the share capital of Asia Coconut Processing Joint Stock Company (ACP) – the Company that specializes itself in manufacturing and trading Coconut-based products for the local and international markets.
It is known that Asia Coconut Processing Joint Stock Company (ACP) was established in 7/2014 in Chau Thanh District – Ben Tre province, the capital of coconut in Vietnam. ACP is a coconut processing company with the main products including: desiccated coconut, coconut milk powder, chilled / frozen coconut milk concentrated, coconut milk / cream, coconut water and coconut oil.
This is the 2nd investment deal of Vinamilk in the second-half of this year, after the acquisition of Khanh Hoa Sugar Joint Stock Company with 65% of share capital, and changed this company’s name to Vietnam Sugar Joint Stock Company (Vietsugar). If the investment to Khanh Hoa Sugar is considered to secure the supply, and support for the main business in milk and other beverage products, the investment to Asia Coconut Processing Company is in the strategy to expand its product category.
In recent years, Vinamilk is not hiding the ambition to have more product lines, alongside its dairy-related products. Besides the traditional products such as: fresh milk, canned milk, powdered milk, nutrition products, yogurt, condensed milk and ice cream, the current Vinamilk’s product portfolio is being scaled up with soy milk, fruit juices and other beverage products.
Nevertheless, until 2016, it is said that Vinamilk’s market share of beverage products and fruit juices is not really significant in Vietnam. Vinamilk still keeps the expectation about the potential to develop the market for these products in the coming years.
